No...a song is typically a piece composed for voice and accompaniment. A song has text and the form can vary. A waltz is a piece that has no vocal. It is not composed for voice. It therefor does not fall into the category of a song. Originally a waltz was composed to be a dance (in 3/4).Composers wrote waltzes (however) as a piece unto itself without it being necessary to function as a dance piece. There can be an instrumental version of a song.Being up on music history can help to clarify.

Thankyou so much for putting this on Youtube,it helped me quite a lot to learn the piece faster and once I knew it by memory I came back to look at the video to remind me of the rhythmn... ( Im not that good at rhythm when I am playing the piano) THANKYOU AGAIN!!!!
