@OptimisticCynic715 "its truly sad how you did not read any article on the invention of soap"
RE
Language barrier??
Everything I read said soap is created with alkali & fat/oil.
Sodium hydroxide & vegetable oils = alkali & fat/oil.
It's all soap. It serves the same purpose. It existed 1000's of yrs before Islam.
Adding aromatics just makes it pleasant, or helps cover up the stink of filth. It doesn't make it super soap. The fragrance doesn't actually clean anything- it's optional.

@OptimisticCynic715 when I said many cultural foods can not be eaten with utensils, then you said rice and I replied Roti. And by the way rice can be eaten with utensils From there you started to support my argument that you should eat with hands.
Moreover Quran says use clean earth and that is only if you can not find water. let me emphasize on that ONLY IF YOU CAN NOT FIND WATER.
It would be nice if you actually read my comments.

@OptimisticCynic715 I am not avoiding the question. I am just saying that cleaning your self 15 times a day then soap is not needed, and its truly sad how you did not read any article on the invention of soap. And again my and the 1.6 billion other people's prophet suggested that take and be satisfied with what have. And on the whole utensils argument, you are the one who said better yet eat utensils when the video says use hands; and when I said many cultural foods can not be ....continued

"you have taken a part out of context (probably from some Islamophobe website)"
RE
If Quran 5:6 says soil can be used to clean yourself, then nothing was taken out of context. Removing soil by applying soil sounds ineffective, unhygienic, and superstitious.
"clean those parts with clean water, I am sure that after this you need soap."
RE
Yes, you do, because the filth is bonded to you by oils, and water just smears it around.
Try removing engine grime w/water.

@razaa09 "Washing and bathing are religious requirements for Muslims"
RE
Sooooo what type of soap/antiseptics did Moh recommend? Just answer that. Stop avoiding the question. Did he give instructions for sterilizing water?
Soap was made with alkali and fats centuries before Islam existed. NaOH is an alkali.
Your "prophet" seemed to suggest a meal of vinegar is acceptable. I do not agree.
Roti can't be eaten with a knife and fork? Can't be broken into spoon size pieces?

.....I am sure you have never done wuhdu in your life now let me explain maybe then you will understand why soap is just optional. Muslims have to do wuhdu 5 times a day, which means cleaning your hands, nose, mouth, ears, face, feet, back of your neck , and hair 3 times. so that makes it 15 times everyday you clean those parts with clean water, I am sure that after this you need soap.
And thanks for the reference to the licking your fingers after meal. I will do that from now on.

@OptimisticCynic715 The three times a meal thing is recommended for the weak ones since many people who sit down to eat more than three meals a day end up overeating each time; and I said you can not eat many food around the world with utensils such as Roti.
Furthermore, my point of mentioning the starving children was that it will make you appreciate the food more, so you would eat the crumbs as well.
And oh I forgot which soap Prophet Muhammad PBUH recommended. I am sure you have ..continued

@OptimisticCynic715 In your reply you mentioned that washing yourself with dirt seems silly too. Now let me clear that up since you have taken a part out of context (probably from some Islamophobe website). The Quran says that if do not find water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and hands with it.
Moving on, I am glad you got the vinegar point without harming yourself. That is one of the reasons I believe God had send his messengers.
Meal part is continued in the next comment.

@OptimisticCynic715 lets start with the soap argument, I really hoped you did your research before replying but thats fine. Washing and bathing are religious requirements for Muslims, which is perhaps why they perfected the recipe for soap which we still use today. The ancient Egyptians had soap of a kind, as did the Romans who used it more as a pomade. But it was the Arabs who combined vegetable oils with sodium hydroxide and aromatics such as thyme oil. You can read the rest on the e-articles.
