This is the first video I took recording the indigenous canopy trees at the back of 75 Kathryn Rd Knoxfield, Victoria Australia.

These trees will be removed to build units behind the existing house under Victorian Governments Melbourne 2030.

The vegetation in this area is protected by a Vegetation Protection Overlay 3 (VPO 3).

However, it is being ignored. This small area in Knoxfield is an important biolink (wildlife corridor) for Egan Lee reserve.

Removal of the indigenous canopy trees here will effect other similar trees.

When Eastlink was built lots of these trees were removed and the birds came to this area. Now they will probably need to find somewhere else.

Already 30 per cent of Victoria's native animals are either extinct or threatened. - Environmental Sustainability Issues Analysis for Victoria, CSIRO.
