''Warning, contains information about Yuna''

Yuna is the female protagonist in both Square Enix's Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 of the Final Fantasy series of console role-playing games. She has also made cameo appearances in Kingdom Hearts II.

Yuna was designed by character designer Tetsuya Nomura. Artwork of Yuna was drawn by Nomura and Yoshitaka Amano.

Born in Bevelle and brought up on the island of Besaid, at the start of Final Fantasy X, Yuna is a reserved, intelligent and serious girl whose formal attire contrasts sharply with Tidus' more outgoing appearance. Yuna is a summoner of Yevon and has the ability to summon powerful creatures known as "aeons". She is mild in demeanor and soft-spoken, but harbors no doubt in herself or in her mission to destroy Sin, and usually manages to conceal any feelings of sadness from others. She is also half-Al Bhed on her mother's side, and consequently has heterochromatic irises: one blue and one green.

As a summoner, Yuna travels across Spira to end the threat the malevolent force Sin poses to her world, aided by her aeons, and even more so by her guardians, whose duty it is to protect her along her journey. Yuna begins her pilgrimage across Spira with three guardians: Kimahri Ronso, who took care of her after she was orphaned; Lulu, who treats her as a younger sister; and Wakka, with whom — along with Lulu — she has been close friends since childhood. After Tidus arrives in Besaid, she takes him as her fourth guardian, and later, Auron — who was also guardian to her father — becomes her fifth. Finally, Yuna's maternal cousin Rikku becomes Yuna's sixth and final guardian shortly after Tidus and Wakka thwart her attempt to kidnap Yuna with an underwater machina.

During the course of the game, Yuna is forced to grow in character. She becomes battle-hardened and her Yevonite beliefs are shaken and eventually shattered. Furthermore, her ever-growing relationship with Tidus causes her to question her quest, and think more for herself. This is evident when she is composing the video sphere she intends for her friends and guardians to view after her death- she confesses that the thought of not being with Tidus scares her.

  • So sad...<'3

It's amazing how much memories a song is able to bring back...

  • The great thing about FF is that years from now we cam think back to the games and remember the memories and the emotions the games brought. I don't think all those Call of Duty players who make fun of us can ever feel that way about their games. They can't have a true connection to any of it.

  • @Nayderine They still work "by themselves". Although they became one company, it doesn't mean that people from both Square and Enix work together to make games.

  • yes i say finalfantasy games are the best games and i play all types of games of all genres alot i mean alot and i say the best games ive played are finalfantasy games and kingdom hearts games although kingdom hearts is made by the same company and they fall into the same catagory

  • I play call of duty modern warefare 3 and black ops, and what can I say I enjoy it and love it because im a beast in killing people ... but final fantasy 10 is my all time favorite game due to the fact it brings a heart connection between you as a player .. a bond so strong that you will never forget. story is so cool, fun, and most of all romantic. best game ever made.
