One of my favorite local spots. It has a great duet that's far from sappy. Some of the sights include meteorologist Johnny Beckman switching John Pruitt's golf clubs, the helicopter pilot high-fiving a kid in a toy store, and of course the 11 Alive insignia, my favorite station logo.

  • I remember Channel 5 did a live shot in-front of 11's building on the 5:00 news, about Bruce Erion's wife body not found on the house boat!

  • Yeah, she apparently fell off his houseboat in Lake Lanier and I dont think they ever found her body.

  • I can't find anything about it online...I just remember hearing several people talking about the news chopper guy who killed his wife back in the late 90s. I am a transplant from another state, and just took it to be accurate statements from those people...

  • money. They sell more ads rather than running these loyalty pieces. Same reason why there used to be a 30-45 second intro at the front of every newscast where they splashed the screen with their logo and then a pleasant mugshot of the on-air talent, played a catchy tune that went along with the loyalty jingle, etc. Time is money. They don't want us to get all warm and fuzzy like they did 20 years ago.

  • That was never proven in a court of law. In fact, it never even went to a court of law. If it did, its news to me.

  • That chopper pilot the one who later murdered his wife?
