A MUST see video of Reagan and you see ah hmm Obama.

Ronald Wilson Reagan /ˈrɑnəld ˈwɪlsən ˈreɪgən/ (February 6, 1911 -- June 5, 2004) was the 40th President of the United States (1981--1989), the 33rd Governor of California (1967--1975) and prior to that, an actor.

Reagan was born in Tampico in Whiteside County, Illinois, reared in Dixon in Lee County, Illinois, and educated at Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and sociology. Upon his graduation, Reagan first moved to Iowa to work as a radio broadcaster and then in 1937 to Los Angeles, California. He began a career as an actor, first in films and later television, appearing in over 50 movie productions and earning enough success to become a famous, publicly recognized figure. Some of his most notable roles are in Knute Rockne, All American and Kings Row. Reagan served as president of the Screen Actors Guild, and later spokesman for General Electric (GE); his start in politics occurred during his work for GE. Originally a member of the Democratic Party, he switched to the Republican Party in 1962. After delivering a rousing speech in support of Barry Goldwater's presidential candidacy in 1964, he was persuaded to seek the California governorship, winning two years later and again in 1970. He was defeated in his run for the Republican presidential nomination in 1968 as well as 1976, but won both the nomination and election, defeating incumbent Jimmy Carter in 1980.

As president, Reagan implemented sweeping new political and economic initiatives. His supply-side economic policies, dubbed "Reaganomics," advocated reducing tax rates to spur economic growth, controlling the money supply to reduce inflation, deregulation of the economy, and reducing government spending. In his first term he survived an assassination attempt, took a hard line against labor unions, and ordered military actions in Grenada. He was reelected in a landslide in 1984, proclaiming it was "Morning in America." His second term was primarily marked by foreign matters, such as the ending of the Cold War, the 1986 bombing of Libya, and the revelation of the Iran-Contra affair. Publicly describing the Soviet Union as an "evil empire,"[1] he supported anti-Communist movements worldwide and spent his first term forgoing the strategy of détente by ordering a massive military buildup in an arms race with the USSR. Reagan negotiated with Soviet General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev, culminating in the INF Treaty and the decrease of both countries' nuclear arsenals.

Reagan left office in 1989. In 1994, the former president disclosed that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease earlier in the year; he died ten years later at the age of 93. He ranks highly in public opinion polls of U.S. Presidents, and is a conservative icon.

Barack Hussein Obama II (Listeni /bəˈrɑːk huːˈseɪn oʊˈbɑːmə/; born August 4, 1961) is the 44th and current President of the United States, having taken office in 2009. He is the first African American to hold the office. Obama previously served as a United States senator from Illinois, from January 2005 until he resigned after his election to the presidency in November 2008.

A native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Obama is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he was the president of the Harvard Law Review. He was a community organizer in Chicago before earning his law degree. He worked as a civil rights attorney in Chicago and taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004.

As president, Obama signed economic stimulus legislation in the form of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in February 2009 and the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010 in December 2010. Other domestic policy initiatives include the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the Dodd--Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal Act of 2010. In foreign policy, Obama gradually withdrew combat troops from Iraq, increased troop levels in Afghanistan, signed an arms control treaty with Russia, and ordered enforcement of the United Nations-sanctioned no-fly zone over Libya in early 2011.

  • @earthpet Reagan tripled no debt. Your beloved Democratic Congress tripled the debt. THEY DID IT. Not Reagan. I am sick, fed up, and ready to fight you liars. Absolutely have had it with your demented lying. Truth is fiction to you and your ilk. Well, buddy, we are finally ready to fight you any way necessary in order to win. Best you be warned.

  • WOW did he say this in the 80's or today? It's deja vu. Socialism didn't work then, doesn't work now, and never will work.

  • Obama sanctions Iran, Reagan gives them weapons, after they held our citizens hostage. Some of these weapons no doubt went into the hands of anti Israeli groups who used them to commit acts of terror.

  • Thanks Ronnie! I love paying insurance preminums that will never come back to me and bank interest to random strangers who don't care about me! We should all love Ronnie and should at shop at Walmart! If you don't love Reagan then you should get out of the country! If this country was founded on one thing, it's love of conservative values that originated in the 1980s!

  • @zae3434 Debt is numbers on a computer screen.

We live on an earth that had no money originally. Humans put it here at some point and they can take it away, too.

  • if reagan were to be brought back from the dead, his alzheimer's cured, and the 22nd amendment were repealed, and he was a republican candidate, not only would the great communicator win all the republican debates, he'd steamroll obama in the debates. no racism intended. im not racist. steamroll is used as in "completely own" and "win" not a hate crime. its sad that i have to put that last part up, but people will call me a racist if i dont. and they probs will even though i stated im not racist

  • @royaladam hahahaha your hero is the king of corruption

  • Reagan was more corrupt then Obama. Is just the rightwings don't amit it.

  • @zae3434 I like you. No homo.

  • Wait, wait, wait, wait!

"The present administration seems to believe that the American people would rather see more regulation, more taxis and more controls, then more energy."

    Next sentence:

"Coal offers great potential, as does nuclear, under RIGOROUS SAFETY STANDARDS."

In other words, regulations and controls.

Having a popular president make a speech while clipping in pieces of an unpopular one looking nervous... This educates no one.

I could do the same thing with Roosevelt and Bush.

  • @zae3434 Um... Regan's congress started republican, and actually approved a budget that was slightly lower than the one he requested. If I know anything about him, he was actually pretty good at getting congress to do what he wanted.

Even ignoring that, you have to pick: Either

Regan was successful in implementing his policies. In which case he take the blame for the debt.

    Or

He wasn't. In which case, a democratic congress restored the military, and did everything else Regan gets credit for.
