Demi: *getting ready for bed*

Joe: *picks her up*

Demi: Joe!

Joe: We're good right?

Demi: Yes. Put me down.

Joe: Good. *sets her down on the bed and pulls out the covers over her* Because I love you. *cups her face and kisses her softly*

Demi: *smiles as he kisses him back* I love you too.

Joe: We should tell each other everything.

Demi: Agree.

Joe: Ok great. *pecks her lips and turns the lights off* You should go to sleep.

Demi: Are you not coming to bed?

Joe: I have to finish my work.

Demi: Ok but be here soon.

Joe: Night babe.

[Joe's Office]

Joe was typing something when Zoey walked in his office.

Joe: Hi pumpkin, why are you still up?

Zoey: I can't sleep.

Joe: Come here.

Zoey: *sits on Joe's lap*

Joe: *continues typing*

Zoey: What are you doing?

Joe: Work. Daddy has lots of them.

Zoey: *frowns at the word daddy and gets teary. She hugged him tight*

Joe: Hey what's the matter?

Zoey: *shakes her head*

Joe: Come on princess, tell me.

Zoey: My little brother or sister is so lucky.

Joe: Why?

Zoey: Because you're going to be his or her daddy.

Joe: *confused* I don't get it.

Zoey: I heard you, when you were talking to mommy. You said that I'm not really your daughter. *tears rolls down her cheeks*

Joe: Oh no. That's not true. *wipes her tears away*

Zoey: Then why did I hear you say it? I really thought you were my daddy.

Joe: I am your daddy Zoe. You are my princess.

Zoey: The happiest moment of my life was when you told me that you were my daddy and when you went to my school.

Joe: *hugs Zoey and kisses her forehead* I love you Zoe. You're my daughter and there's no doubt in that.

Zoey: I love you daddy.

Joe: *smiles and he opens photoboothin his macbook* See, you look like me *puts on the square effect*

Zoey: *giggles as their face became distorted*

Joe: *puts on another effect*

Zoey: We look like aliens. *laughs*

Joe: *chuckles* I know.

[Hours later]

Joe: (Looks at Zoey's sleeping figure on his lap. He feels bad for her for hearing what he has said earlier. It was too much for a 5 year old kid. He honestly can't imagine life without Zoey, he loved the kid too much already. She was one the best things that has happened to him. He even wished that he knew her longer.)

Awh. I dont understand why Joe would even think she was someone else's child. Joe got the results straight from the doctors and she didn't ask Zoey to need a blood transfusion or give any other signs that she was trying to pass of Zoey as his.
