Well I hate the Belt-clips, the amount of times my radios have fallen and hit the ground because of them... So I got D Rings for the battery :D

  • @lukefwross yeah, Motorola make a Klickfast clip for the MTH800 and MTP850 and probably most, if not all, of their TETRA line. There's also third party clips for WARRIS serial radio's out there too now. Nearly every British cop has the female clips on his body armour and some on the belt. It's like a cop MOLLE lol!

  • @JuliettWhiskeyNiner Its good when its so wide spread, I have all the mounts on my helmet, its the firefighters utility belt. I can mount Torch, goggles (Bolted on), heat visor, camera, ear muffs, and heat shroud. I even keep my Flash hood in it.

  • Don't know of you've ever seen them, but here in Europa, most pubilc safety organizations have switched to using "Peter Jones Klickfast" it's a similar idea and rather awesome.

  • @JuliettWhiskeyNiner looks very similar, it seems Motorola even makes the connector for the MTH800.

    Thanks for the heads up.

  • poor radio

  • fuck this thing off ! It's so true that belt clip is shit I was doing surveillance in plain clothes got out of the car and the clip broke OFF and radio fell on the ground. However the D-ring holster or D-ring clip aren't really the way to go for me since I need a slimmer looking for profile 80% of the time. Liking the video's man keep em coming !

  • @Cbluboi01 Hehe, welcome to the club of radio throwing! You know you have someone use to Motorola's when they horribly misjudge the weight of another radio :P

  • @snarlingrabiddog5150 hehe, I left that in because its a bit of a laugh, its been through much much worse. I have had to dig it out of mud when its flown off my belt :P

I did not know they where different either, I was hoping to use the leather case with it. I have been tempted to get a OEM belt clip, but never ended up doing it as I could not see much difference really, then again they probably have better springs.

  • @lukefwjross When I got this 3k it was really heavy compared to my hyt, but I'm getting used to it now, and if I go to pick up my HYT i pretty much through the thing up in the air. lol

  • @Cbluboi01 They are big, but I like it that way. Lots of guys I know have iCom's (and I use a VHF iCom at fires at the moment) but I think they are two small. Compared to Motorola's I feel they also have reliability issues, I have a bit of a start up procedure when I pull and iCom out of a charger XD

tl;dr The size is big, but they wont break easy.
