Originally produced two years ago as "One Minute to Nine," this documentary finally arrives at HBO with a somewhat more in-your-face title -- and, in a stark, spare way that has come to characterize the pay channel, delivers a pretty bracing wallop. A harrowing portrait of domestic abuse, the project draws heavily on video shot by the dead abuser, as his wife, Wendy Maldonado, spends her final days of freedom before going to jail for his murder. The net result is every bit as chilling and depressing as one might expect. Includes captions for the hearing impaired.

His brother is a fucking LIAR, I lived above them in the green house (on Dawn Dr. in Grants Pass) and he was ALWAYS yelling at them. He was a horrible human being and deserved what he got. I just wish it had happened sooner so those poor people didn't have to go through all this shit. They shouldn't have spent a moment in jail IMO. Let that bastard rot in hell.

In a an insane society doing the right thing is punishable. Any human being could correctly judge the situation and understand her pain, but the justice system is no human being. It is a set of rules and it has no empathy, it does not know all the facts and it is deeply flawed. We humans have a justice system because we have lost our common sense. Wendy is a saintly person, just look at her face and you will see the size and strenght of her soul. This docu was very sad but her smile comforts me.

FUCK THIS DISGUSTING WORLD. A mother and her children get beaten, tortured, TORMENTED for years on end and then get placed in jail when decide they have had enough and fight for their lives back. This is whats fucked up about this life. Everything is done by strict rules, order, procedures you have to follow with no heart or compassion - and its valid up to a certain extent. This just crosses every line. Fuck the system. Everyone knows Wendy and Randy should not even step foot in any jail.

fuck the system , it never truly works , i am glad she did what she did , he so deserved worse , but it least his kids dont have to look over there shoulder. and his brothers tyrant just  shows hes a sic fuck too
