  • Why did they wrote Peter?! His name ist Piotr!

  • @meandmyaccound russian names are written with international equivalents, according to land of displaying. almost always.

  • as from my experience and knowledge to this symphony,i personally would think that the allegro of the 1st movement is rather too fast

nice solo to the horn in the 2nd movement:)

3rd movement was fine but i would appreciate more if it's slower

4th movement could be started slower at the andante.allegro vivace seemed too rush.tempo of the presto was fine but too fast at 6/4 time. anyway, nice playing people;)

  • @cwliXmas I don't understand why interpretations widely acknowledged by majority should always be the ideal interpretations. Only time you could be that strictly sure about tempi would be if the composers wrote exact bpm, which they usually don't

  • If you're gonna cough, leave!

  • @winrx What's your problem there, it's an european orchestra and these were handpicked musicians for it.

  • A bit too legato in the strings in the finale.

  • There is always someone who has to cough right before the music begins...

  • i LOVE orchestras...but i hate the outfit of musicians...i mean wear something comfortable to play :PP the maestro is like he dived in sea lol

  • Why are they called the "Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester" Was Mahler the originator of this youth orchestra? Did not know they had such a thing circa 1900.

  • @JureGorucan I don't agree that the widely acknowledged is always the ideal, and this symphony is a case in point. The vast majority of conductors take this symphony much too fast in my opinion, so I am clearly in the minority here thinking that the fast tempo is certainly not the ideal interpretation - far from it!!

  • Astound !

  • @mphello That's a personal opinion and this Tchaikovsky is indeed a fine work. But most think the composer's own 6th is his best. And then what about Brahms, Mahler, Bruckner, Sibelius not to mention other Beethoven's and Haydn's London symphonies? Not too much disagreement about your No. 1 though, I think.

  • Too many commenters here because this performance is not the same as some personally ideal performance either they have in their head or have heard on record are too negative. This is a youth orchestra after all not Welser-Most's resident Cleveland Orchestra. Just enjoy.

  • BRILLIANT!! So much for the deaf nit pickers-too fast/too slow-note missing here-note missing there nonsense. This is a WONDERFUL performance by enthusiastic and talented young musicians.
