To celebrate my 3000 subscriber mark, thanks to everyone by the way, I have decided to do a little competition. I'll be giving away 2 Minecon Avatar Capes, and 2 Minecraft Gift Codes

Any questions? Ask them on the FAQ vid: http://youtu.be/-AX4OKIBSUg

Though it's probably on page 5 by now. That forum moves so fast :/

Full Competition Details:
The competition is this: Create an adventure map encounter. It can be an encounter of any kind that keeps the player occupied for at least a minute... so a "pretty" build is not enough. Maybe a Rollercoaster, parkour challenge, puzzle, hidden item, contraption, monster fight, maze etc. The encounter must fit a 20 by 20 by 20 cube. It MUST include redstone in some sort of working fashion (within the 20x20x20 area... everything within the 20x20x20). For example, piston doors, puzzle mechanics, powered rails etc. It can't just be for decoration.

It must be playable on Minecraft 1.1 only. No snapshots or betas.

You may have a custom set of "rules" for your encounter, however regular adventure map rules should apply: eg no breaking or placing blocks unless for a specific purpose. You may also have mini story elements in your encounter.

You enter by sending me a download link to a schematic or world through youtube message or video response to this video. If email is your only mode of file transportation, I can organise an email address for you to send it to. Let me know.

All entries will go into a draw for a Minecon 2011 Avatar Cape code for xbox360

There will be 1 winner who will receive: Minecon Avatar Cape for xbox AND a Minecraft Gift Code (to do what with... I'm not sure) AND their name will be first on the list of contributors. They will be selected by me based on the following criteria: Complexity, Design, Difficulty (note: harder does not mean better) and Redstone Proficiency.

If I get more than 5 entries, I will stitch together all of the encounters somehow into it's own "Jigarbovs Channel" adventure map. Of course I may modify or tweak the challenge to make it fit, but the idea will be left alone for the most part.

You have 2 weeks to finish this, on Monday February 6th I will no longer be accepting any new entries.

In addition to this, everyone who comments on this video, as long as you're subscribed (I will be checking) will get entered into a draw to win a Minecraft Gift Code. (one entry per user)

Any and all submissions become my property to do with as I wish (including for profit(!)). That said, I always try to credit people for their work and will do so as long as I remember, even with these. I just can't promise that there will be a day where I forget who made what and I don't credit them. In that case you're not allowed to get mad.

Thanks and I hope you enjoy the competition!

  • @jigarbov My minecraft forum name is YtRage. I had no idea that many people entered. I wish I was better at red stone, but i still haven't figured out how to loop red stone circuits back on to themselves. The only way i have is by using a minecart and detector rail connecting the circuits. I just started building a real adventure map recently and got MC Edit, which i didn't have when I made my map.

  • @Jigarbov I've uploaded a video with the fixes I made in my encounter. I've put it as a video response to this video.

  • Cant wait to see who wins

  • Just uploaded the video after some internet problems. DO you think it's going to be accepted?

  • @jigarbov Hmmm. Maybe if you rent a server, it would be easier. Everyone who wants to do the contest pay a part of the rent to access the server. Each month, you save the world and put a new one (with download link of the previous, of course)

So we can play other's cubes (or whatever) and you don't care about merging

  • @ShivaanKeldon haha monthly, maybe yearly xD This is going to be a MASSIVE job to test and compile them all into one big adventure. My life is going to be consumed by this for the next month.

  • @ShivaanKeldon I agree. I didn't enter for the prizes either.

  • Comment!!!

Please please please let someone who needs it get the code...

    Thanks...?
