  • The function of a mixer is what ??

I own a interface to rec. my guitar , if a buy a mixer , what's the function of it !? and how to connect them thankyou I want to know clearly !

  • well the point of a mixer is to be connected to an interface to extent the amount of inputs and faders to control

  • should i connect the mixer to audio interface like alesis IO 2 or go straight to the computer audio input?

  • yes that will give it better quality because the computers sound card is really bad

  • I have a 4 channel mixer with 4 different outputs, but only 3 of the outputs will work with this type of cable, the labels are "amp," "booth," and "rec

  • I tried it that way. lots of weird digital white noise/static from mixer and/or shitty sound card OR rca cable used.. sounds tinny :( hopefully usb2.0 is better? i have my doubts.

i miss my 4 track!! with tapes!!

  • @AverageJoeRercords what do you mean by fader control? will the faders control individual tracks in my DAW?

  • could you tell me what the wire is called so that i can buy one?? thanks :)

  • @vapors420 son if you got a usb mic and a usb mixer, then plug those into your computer, and record away. you use a xlr is to send sound from one analog device to another. you use the usb to grab analog sounds and make it digital. thats why u have an audio interface(usb mixer)

  • Can u use a USB mic along with a USB mixer to a laptop? Or Do it have to be an XLR?

  • WRONG!

You put the RCA out to the Line In of the PC with a RCA to plug adapt. and then the headphone out into the RCA input again with adapt or finr a plug to RCA cable. Then use the little button in the console to listen to the sound AFTER it goes in the console and you can monitor yourself that way with only one piece of gear without any loops. DUMB video.

  • This couldnt have been more helpful since i just happened to get the same exact mixer today :)

  • don`t use audacity it sucks
