Chris Earl was originally a sheep and beef farmer but has thrown it all in to breed Greyhounds.
Rob Cope-Williams paid him a visit to find out how he came to be in this industry and just what is involved when breeding and training Greyhounds.

  • so you as a breeder what do you do with the dogs after they have retired from racing? because most of them just get killed and thrown away like a piece of garbage. if your just letting people kill them after they race them you are a horrible person. if you breed them as pets than i have nothing to say. i feel horrible for the dogs who are put in tiny cages 24:7 and forced to race for other people's greed

  • what happens with the dogs when they stop racing? some get adopted but what about all the others??? this is really a sick and horrible business!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @KimPhabulous12 i have 5 greyhounds and they're racers but all are inside dogs and are loved dearly. If they dont win, they dont win, They love to run and love to race. If i think they are getting tired of it i will have them fixed so they can get really fat and let them have the rest of their lives here on my 178 acre farm. They will only leave forever when old age gets them. I love my greyhounds!!!

  • It's Terrible how people use Greyhounds to make money for themselves. JUST TERRIBLE PEOPLE!!!

  • Bitch, how would you like to give birth to 50 litters of puppys?!

  • I always have heard that Greyhounds should be indoor animals because they can not handle cold or heat. These poor dogs only have coops like a chicken for shelter. :(

  • GREYHOUND RACE BREEDERS AND TRAINERS = PRATS , TWATS , A GENUINE WASTE OF SEMEN AND EGGS . DO US ALL A FAVOR ..... ABORT YOURSELVES XXX

  • DISGUSTING.......SHAME ON YOU,,,OH THATS RIGHT,,THE STAKES ARE HIGH...IDIOTS..

  • Backyard breeding here in Australia with unregulated diseases like Pannis (causes blindness) being accepted into the racing industry as it doesnt matter when the dogs are dead by 4 years when the blindness occurs.

Greyhound racing - they breed 'em, they kill 'em. 20,000 healthy dogs killed each year in Australia. You gamble.. the losers nearly ALWAYS die.

  • Im sure you will treat the greyhounds you breed just like the livestock you use to breed, just every other greyhound breeder worldwide. Please dont think you are entering a noble profession, pet breeder are pimps.

Greyhound racing is mass killing machine. Have to ask how many of greyhounds will make it to racing (probably only half, where will these puppies go?) and how will make to retirement to be a pet like they should have be from the day they are born.

    Get a real job. Disgraceful.

  • Why not admit that the percentage of dogs who find their way into homes is very very low? The fact is, most of the dogs this guy breeds will be dead by the age of five, never having known the love and comfort of a family home. And this is a gentle and affectionate breed with a natural lifespan of 12-15 years. Greyhound racing is an industry for people who can't get a real job and don't mind exploiting man's best friends for money or ego. And the breeders are the worst of a bad bunch.

  • @yuup83 And American dogs are the strongest! :)
