Million Dollar Highway 550 Motorcycle Ride - Suzuki C90 T- Colorado

This is a short portion of our ride along Highway 550, the "Million Dollar Highway" in Colorado in May of 2010. It is a road that takes much concentration on a motorcycle. There is no forgiveness if you take a shoulder - it's a long way down. My camera is firmly mounted on a gpscity.ca camera mount that requires no further action after the shutter push. The motorcycle in front of me is a 2004 Yamaha Midnite Venture ridden by my friend. Our other buddy is behind me on a Yamaha Roadstar. Watch out for fallen rocks at 1:42. We put 8,000 miles on our bikes during this trip that took us to the California Coast Highway up to Vancouver and back to Ontario. The only problems encountered in all that way were a bird strike that took out a windshield lower on the bike in front of me; I lost a windshield nut and the Yamaha behind shook off a highway pedal. We did an oil / filter change in Vancouver on the motel lot. Very reliable bikes.

Ahhh...so that's what that road looks like when it's green and not covered in snow and rain. :) I went there last month with my Z (350Z) and the weather wore me out.  Didn't get to enjoy the scenery much. Definitely not the road you want to make a mistake on.

How do you like your C90T? I have an 05 C90T, replaced brakes at 48,000, front bearings at 60,000 (one picked up a wobble) and the stator at 61,000, other than that is just keeps rollling down the road. Great bike.

Awesome. I'm just finish up the planning stages of the trip we are taking there this coming (end of) summer. From upstate NY, to Jacksonville FL, to San Deigo, up to Yosemite, across Rt 50 in nevada, down to Zion Natl Park, North Rim of the Grand Canyon, monument valley AZ, 4 corners, Mesa Verde, San Juan Highway, This stretch of the Million $ highway, Wolf Creek pass, Great Sand Dunes, Natl Monument, Cherohola, Tail of the Dragon, Blue Ridge, Skyline, to Home. 8400 miles, 17 Days, 3 bikes.
