This is the ongoing saga of "Bones" the Eastern Box Turtle. Through the magic of modern technology, glimpse into the life of a wild box turtle in its natural environment. Bones has moved 167 feet SW of his day 8 location. I found him sitting on the surface of the ground partially hidden under dry leaves under the limbs of a Mountain Laurel shrub. He was on the western edge of the clearing where the badminton court is located about 120 feet north of the small creek. The vegetation in the area consists of an understory of Mountain Laurel, Rhododenderons, Wild Strawberries, Blueberry, Pink Lady Slipper and mixed grasses. The canopy is dominated by White Pines, Sweetgum and Red Maple. For detailed info on this Eastern Box Turtle conservation and Tracking program please take a look at the Turtle Tracks website at: http://www.geocities.com/thesolorover/BoxtrackCMcoin.html
