Time lapse video from a CoastalCOMS camera running at Huntington Beach, CA for Solspot.com shows little impact on the beaches while harbor masters and public safety friends along the coast reported up to 60 inch surges with 10 knot currents to CoastalCOMS staff. CoastalCOMS hosted media or public safety cameras can be driven to preset viewing positions in the event of emergency or public warnings from NOAA, USGS, and other authorities.

  • If you've see 2 seconds of this then you've seen it all.

  • Thanks for that - you've illustrated one point of these videos rather nicely. What we're showing is the ability to have a camera that moves based on alerts or warnings, so researchers and planners can see what happens over time before, during, and after any event. We're working to put visual data next to model outputs, sensor data, etc.
