Sharon Corsaro shares spontaneous vocalArt before a live gallery audience for the Opening Night of "Confluence / Influence," a collaborative Art Show curated by Julia March Crocetto in Anchorage, Alaska, March 19, 2010.

(Please be patient - video SOUND only begins AFTER opening titles.)

Sharon's song is a spontaneous creation - only the subject is known at the start. The whole of the song is saved for "the moment" of creation (which can take place in nature, or in front of a live audience, for camera and/or microphone).

Sharon's song is a blessing in word, sound and motion shared for the subject and all present, as it becomes also, VocalArt. Song spills out one word at a time, with melody and full song taking form, literally, in the moment - without thought only allowance ~ for sound to come forth.

About this Performance:
In true spontaneous song form... Sharon Corsaro created this song one time only, before a live audience. The song was not pre-written or pre-conceived. There was no "practice" or even thought for what would come out... because there is a large build-up of energy that "practice" would tap into and prematurely "drain" - Instead, the whole of the song is saved for the people who will be present when the song is born. Setting her focus upon the given subject, Sharon allows the song to pour forth - one word at a time. In this case, she collaborated with Silk Artist, Julia March Crocetto who curated the collaborative art show "Confluence / Influence." Opening night, Sharon arrived by plane - saw Julia's gorgeous "Silk River" briefly for the first time only hours before the performance, and then with audience in place, set out to spill forth the River's song ("River") which had been "building" inside her for roughly a month or two since she agreed to the performance. The two artists had been discussing the show for some time, when they realized they both were inspired to create something related to "The River" - a powerful place that both artists know well, where three rivers converge at the small village of Talkeetna, Alaska, near the base of the great Denali (Mt. McKinley). When they discovered the alignment of their individual inspirations, they agreed Sharon should perform in collaboration with the Silk River Julia planned to create. Sharon arrived the afternoon of opening night - and once "seeing" Julia's River - was instantly "ready" to let this one spill forth!

For this performance, we had only one very small camcorder to capture all sound and picture (no separate microphone on Sharon) - so please forgive production quality and background noise - just happy we managed to "get it."
