During the 2011 school year, Cabot Middle School students engaged in an interdisciplinary learning expedition called The Global Citizen Project. As part of their social studies, science and digital media arts and music classes, the students started a production company and produced a "Playing For Change" style video featuring over 300 Vermont student musicians and singers.

From the filming and directing to the logistics and final editing process, Cabot Middle school students were responsible for nearly every detail of production.

The song that we have chosen to perform is "One Day" by Matisyahu. The rationale behind this choice is that it communicates an optimistic vision towards a better world. Additionally the song has already been performed by thePS 22 kids in New York, who are always an inspiration. Organizations like Playing For Change and the PS 22 music program demonstrate the power of music to bring people together. It is a simple but powerful truth.

The goal of the Global Citizen Project is to empower young people to understand first hand that they can make a difference in the world.

Towards that goal we have created and posted this video to support the Playing For Change Foundation's efforts in building music schools in impoverished communities. Please click on the donate link to support The Playing For Change Foundation and the belief that young people can and will make a difference in the world through the arts.

  • sorry to say but the 666 is already upon us. It only has to be implemented now. Oprah believes all religions are ok, is it did god love the fact that we warship many idols. Really better get it together people, if you are an aethist God will prove you wrong and not the God lucifer. All Gods besides the father of Jesus is lucifer manipulating and twisting...... master of mystery.

  • This is satan at his best, getting kids ready for Globalization. Awsome then the mark of the beast will be upon us. Cannot wait for the lord jesus to come. I am agaist the globalization for Jesus, but these things are to come and you better be ready to answer for believing and idolizing hollowood stars, tatooes, football teams... etc look up free masons. You want salvation go to The fuel project. Don't get sucked into this Plato theology, Read the bible believe in jesus.

  • Every generation seems to know that something isn't quite right with the world.Right now, the world seems more fragile than ever. The children know this and it is our work to give them the 21st century skills they need to strengthen it. Producing this Global Citizens video taught Cabot middle school students how to collaborate with a dozen schools on a single mission- a microcosm of their life's work as global citizens.
