This underground Battery was first built in 1895, and additions were made in the 1940's. It has over 25+ rooms. It was a secret Battery and at one time housed the Harbor Defense Command Post. Very Unique structure compared to others, as this has very limited damage by vandalism because very few people know about it, as entry ways are welded. There is no access to the public in this location. Unlike many other Batteries in the area, it still has its old Diesel engines for power, electrical panels and many other items inside. This is one haunting Battery.... untouched and a lot of History here.

  • Its been close up by Park Police.

  • Could someone give me a hint as where to find it? Been looking for bunkers like this off and on for months in the bay area. Would make for a great photo project.

  • @mrsurfen Could you rephrase this hint? Is it inside Marin Headlands? Is it across from Marin Headlands on the peninsula, or across from Marin Headlands on the east side of the bay or Angel Island ?

  • most intense and mysterious video on youtube.

  • Cont...Many places outside were completely overgrown and impossible to make out the cement walls and floor. It was a fun trip down memory lane...the familiar smell of moldy concrete was great after all these years ;-).

  • ...Continued. I didn't go inside this time. I was by myself, and given the kooks around these days, chickened out (having a family now changes priorities). The last time I went inside was 3-5 years ago. 30 years had taken it's toll...the concrete waterproofing tar they seal the roof with before covering it with dirt was failing, and a lot of ceiling tiles had fallen due to leaks. Not too much vandalism, but generator room was trashed and some grafitti. Outside has become very overgrown. Cont...

  • Took my second look around since 1980 when my high school buddy used to frequent it. Back then, the Army was using it for a phone switchboard and rec. room, but most rooms had little in them. One had some Cold War era Radiation Warning posters, first aid and survival supplies. When we would get in, the generator was still warm from the day shift use of the lights. Continued...

  • Where can I fin the entrance??? I have been trying to find it forever and stopped cause my last attempt I ended up with poison oak. If anyone knows where the entrance is email me at agentsmith916@yahoo.com. Plz and thanks!

  • The best part about it, is that it has not been vandalized. It is cool. Keep it that way.

  • Why is he whispering? Not like anyone is going to hear him! lol. Dumbass. I'd give my left ventricle to tour this place.
