Last landing for Arik Air. Notice on the roll out that it seems bumpy, it is. The runways in Lagos are that bad. Just ask anyone that's ever flown into that place. Won't miss it. Thats for sure

No, I remember landing at Murtala Muhammed Airport - Lagos, many years ago in the 70s, the runway was bad then. It sounds like it hasn't improved!
WT803 (or was it WT903, it changed) was the flight number I think, on Nigeria Airways. The landing was so bad my sister was sick in the immigration area!
Kano was the same, equally bad.
Don't get me going on the corruption at the airport, I'll post again on that one in due course...
i have a question for anyone who can answer...what ever happend to Nigeria Airways? i remember it used to be an airline. i think maybe it closed down and they opened a viring nigeria through the famous virign airlines. too bad nigeria doesnt own virgin nigeria but richard bransen (or whatever his name is) does. i would really like to know why they canceled the airline? does anyone know? thanks!
Nigeria Airways ceased operating in 2003. It had accumulated significant debts, and various allegations have been made that former Nigerian rulers looted and mismanaged the airline which accelerated its failure. (See External links). The Nigerian government later came to an agreement with Virgin Atlantic Airways to found Virgin Nigeria Airways, intended as a replacement, although the ground facilities of the old Nigeria Airways were eventually taken over by another company, Arik Air.
really? how sad! i knew it had something to do with stupid government leaders, or their corrupt nation. why is nigeria so corrupt, when they're the richest country in Africa. this is sad!! thanks for the reply! :)
