sounds like the afm to me mine played up like that and took me 2 months to find it ended up was the afm , such a simple thing to change and caused so many probs

my r33 gtst rb25det has the same problem but dont sound as bad at that happend today hope it can be fixed

Coil packs and/or plugs. Try some NGK copper plugs. They are cheap and work great. Also check your MAF. And if you resolved the problem, no matter how, please inform us :)

For those of you who messaged me asking what the problem was, it turns out it was the wiring from the engine control unit to the fuel injectors. New wiring harness fixed the problem.
