  • Great video, thank you so much for going into so much detail between the two distros. I have used Ubuntu for a while now but when I heard of Mint I decided to do some research and found your video. I wonder how Mint 11 compares to Ubuntu 11.04. Thanks for going into a lot of the differences between the two.

  • @DLiberator78 Hey thanks! That means a lot. Good luck in Linux. I've been more into Web apps and news feeds more than OS's lately.

  • Nice video dude!

  • @JeffTheComputerGeek Thanks! Subscribe. I'll do some more videos just like this very soon.

  • Thanks for the video.

I think the most frustrating thing in LinuxMint is its menu. it's graphically ugly :P

They should redesign it to be easier to users eyes. the first thing you see after launching it is the system section. My eyes doesn't expect to see the marginal apps in the beginning. Another thing about this menu is that it has no border at all. the icons and titles are very close to the edges.

  • @shrinux I agree entirely. The menu was ok back in Linux Mint 7 but now as Windows further distances their look away from XP, but Linux Mint is the same, well, they need a fresh overhaul is what I think now.

  • ubuntu was better, now mint is better! i hate unity !!

    i want gnome 2 back !

  • ubuntu is better

  • you sound very wrong man... "I've been having a good time with my friend today" and not to forget "ive been working on it all day today... and I've been havin a real good time" LOL

  • @THE16THPHANTOM Mint had too many bugs for me. Then I tried Kubuntu which also had too many bugs. I've been using Xubuntu and it works great! Not as polished, though.

  • @tinosnit

i'm having trouble with 11.10 too the 64 bit version( the 32 bit version works great but doesn't use half of my total memory), was hoping mint could do better but sounds worse from this video.

  • Thanks for the video. just heard about Mint and was considering switching over, but looks like I will hold off or make a VM out of it. Thanks!

  • What do you think of 11.10? I absolutely hate it. Going to install Mint now.

  • both are lean mean linux OSs! love linux and am using ubuntu 11.04 and haven't used windows for anything other than windows specific programs since!

  • thank you for this. im battling between linux mint and Lubuntu (not ubuntu) the reason being is lubuntu is so lightweight and my laptop isnt THAT powerful

so this video helped a bit. i WAS going to get BAckTrak but im so glad i didnt.

  • Interesting to see this after installing mint 11 today. Much has changed since then!
