Yes men will be the ones producing food but unfortunately many men have not been kind to women in the past and would deprive their wives and children of food to satifsy their own hunger. I wish things could turn out as ideal as you say. That would be a great situation! And by the way I hope you understand I was just sensationalizing the situation? I'm glad someone called me out on it!

I wouldn't even hazard a guess as to the future of the "liberated" woman. Marriage or cohabitation with males, and child bearing is optional if they wish it to be. Matriarchal societies have & still exist, not that I would predict a sea change in that direction. Glad you came across peak moment TV. I find it a youtube channel that has a positive outlook that humankind will move beyond peak oil, consumption.

If "women are about to be shoved back into the kitchen in front of their stoves" in an energy-depleted future, perhaps this isn't as bad as it seems...for women to be in charge of the food produced by men: cooking, baking, preserving, canning, storage, and most importantly, distribution. Maybe in that world, we wouldn't have people starving to death in thir-world countries while people here develop obesity and hypertension.
