@rebelwithakeyboard You also have to bare in mind that until the label has 100% recouped of the money it has spent on the album you see nothing and lets assume each album costs £10 the album only generated £150,000 from the album that's £50,000 less than they paid the features. That's not including the other costs of recording booking a studio for 6 hours for a signed costs on average around £300 and artists usually record 50 songs for the albums and then whittle it down to 12-20 songs.

@rebelwithakeyboard I meant 15,000 but really and truly he wouldn't have got that much because he wouldn't have recouped recording costs, the price of mixing and mastering, paying the producers, paying the high profile artist (£200,000 for transition check the figures yourself), paying the cost of producing the CD's, and the promotion campaign which is expensive they also have to pay musicians to play the instruments that give the instrumentals the album quality.
