@ho2cultcha I don't know what polls you're talking about but well over 75% of Iraqis are glad Saddam is gone an d feel their lives are better now then when Saddam was in power. Don't confuse their desire to have US forces gone with a desire to have Saddam back. As for why we support oppressive regimes I fully understand why that adult choice escapes you. Sometime you need to support a bad guy in order to oppose a worse guy.

@captwasabi i think you should check the polls of people on the street in iraq. they overwhelmingly state that the price was not worth it. we may be able to liberate ourselves, but it's really not our job to liberate others. if it were our job, why do we support repressive regimes all over the world, instead of 'liberating' them? the stated purpose of the war in iraq has been a moving target and if they were truly 'liberated', why is security at an all-time low?

@ho2cultcha Iraq has been liberated from a fairly nasty individual and have been able to retake their government giving everyone in the country the same rights and freedoms that American's have. That was the stated purpose of the invasion of Iraq. To liberate it. To say that this war is bullshit is to say that the Iraqis did not deserve their shot at freedom.

@captwasabi HUH?! where did that brilliant question come from?

@h0tie ....I ma turly sorry for you loss. If it were up to me all human rights issues would be solved by a game of checkers but you have to realize that Saddam would never have allowed that to happen. This was a man who ruled through terror. Anyone who stood against him was executed. Your brother made an incredible choice to fight for the freedom of other people and while I am positive that you hurt for your loss I think you should take some pride in what incredible character your brother had.
-
@h0tie Ok, then you really have no position on which to speak about the condition in Iraq. While I don't have family members but I do have many friends who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan and they all tell me that there are major, positive changes. As for gains for our country, why does there have to be a mterialistic value for our country to bring the same freedoms that we enjoy to other parts of the world? Contnued....

@captwasabi i have never been to Iraq but i am a sister to a dead brother that fought for this war. I am not stupid there was no real victory to honour all our dead soldiers.
My stupidity that this Iraq war has no gain for our country will remain. I hope you are happy now.
-
@h0tie You're so fucking clueless it's pathetic. I can't even hope to try and cure you of your stupidity. Out of curiousity, when was the last time you were in Iraq?
-
@ho2cultcha Yeah, you're so right. Only Americans deserve freedom and democracy, right?
how often does this have to happen before everyone gets the message that going to iraq has nothing to do w/ fighting for freedom and democracy? if any recruiter still says that, do not believe it for a second.
