why would you use a lens hood to shoot inside? its made to use outside when there's sun... second you can't use a hood with a flash.. it will create a huge dark spot just like in his picture at 3:57 minutes in.. you can tell he took the hood off for the second shot..
Thing is you need to adjust exposure compensation for this thing to work properly. You also require ambient light otherwise no fancy device will get you a proper photo. Its about balancing these types of light.
I used this product in places with sufficient ambient light in the proper direction and it works quite well.
I am really confused why hes using a hood indoors though.
Gary Fong has really found a big niche market in amateur and photography starters that are willing to spend money in small gadgets for improving their pictures. It makes me a little bit sick to see how people believe that such a device makes an improvement. "eliminate the shadows", "very very large... softer quality", "much much softer"! please!... just invest this money on a lighting book!
@octap79 so his explanation of how to use it and what that thing does was bad? as he said the light spreads out due to the curving, have you ever tried to use cloth or similar infront of the flash? it acctually does improve the lighting...you can also lower the pop up flash when shooting to make it look like morticia from addams family when you shoot portraits
Shitty camera and super awesome lens...
