  • Does GAZ 469 have flathead too or its valves are in head?

  • @Desmodromic916 The UAZ 469 has an engine that is an overhead valve design

  • I found a guy in Germany that had some for sale so i bought him out. I find the same kind on ebay.de but they want 10 euro each!

  • No relatives, just a big fan of the Lahti 1935 pistol!

In the video they do look ok but they were covered in white ash and a little pitted. 2-3 Were soaked in oil when i took them out originally, bad piston rings!

  • actually the exhaust valves on #1 and #4 are the desires color....they are running at the desires temperatures.....the mixture on the end cylinders is ok....the two center cyls. seem a little rich.

  • BTW Greetings from Norway! I'm currently in the process of restoring a 1955 Pobeda (GAZ M20) for my employer. He is now thinking of buying a GAZ-69, so im looking around, researching. Good luck with yours.

  • A tip: The GAZ M20 engine was originally derived from the Dodge flathead engine, albeit 2 cylinders shorter.(there are also 6 cylinder Russian versions, mounted in trucks and Pobeda M26(M20 KGB version)) When they constructed the engine they considered the extra cost of developing an entirely new engine against using an already existant and well proven construction. A 1935 Dodge D5 was purchased and the engine construction copied, converted to metric. Thus many Dodge flathead parts may fit..

  • @Lahti1935

Ok, now i understand why your username is Lahti1935! Where you did get original USSR made sparkplugs? I have been looking original USSR made plugs to my own Soviet cars, without results! My Soviet cars are Soviet license built Fiat 124s. They are very good cars! And im from Finland!

  • Nice project! Your username is Lahti1935, do you have relatives or etc. in Finland?

    Lahti is city in Finland.

But in my opinion sparkplugs in cylinders 1 and 4 look just normal to me, 2 and 3 are looking too dirty.

  • just viewed the other video showing scores pistons.i guess ring stagger is the least of your problems. would love to hear it run when finished.
