It's scarey that America is the dominant world superpower and has such a high proportion of funamentalist whack jobs.

I believe in God, but until people who preach religion really begin to practice what they say, then I am going to stay anti religion

So who are we to try and keep science classes scientific? Let's teach biblical creation as scientific fact, and not demand evidence. By the same logic, so must alchemi, astrology, homeopathi and intelligent falling. Not to mention every single creation story from every other religion ever believed, as fact. Do you see now why we demand evidence for what is taught in science? If they want to be taught in science class, they must follow the rules of science. First step? Prove your god

@svaught32 I would just like to add my personal experience. I was raised up as an orthodox Muslim. Came to United States and studied , Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism, Taoism, Sikhism etc, along with Physical Anthropology, Psychology, philosophy and Human History. Took me 3 years and now feel like I wasted all my life believing in something that never existed ......

Why are people so queer on here? If people want to be christian just leave them alone, if people want to be atheist just leave them alone. I am an atheist and I don't think Christians are perfect but I don't slag them off!

It seems that some of the most destructive believers here were the evolutionists. Teaching students that they cannot question what science presents as fact but clearly is not fact compels them to be blind servants to a state. The questions for both sides: do you want thinkers, those who intelligently inquire into our world? Or, do you want believers? Both bar rooms and battlefields are full of believers!

@mcmeister89 According to most fundamentalists, yes all the evidence for evolution, a 4.6 billion year old planet, and everything else that contradicts a literal interpretation of the Bible IS meant to trick us.

"Bold new scientific theory". Someone got their editing wrong, here's the errata:
"Worn-out old superstitious nonsense."

@Lessien881 See that's something I've always wondered about. You have churches and Sunday school, why do you need public schools as well?

There seems to be this common misconception that you have to believe Evolution or god, or something of that nature. It's an extremely skewed way of thinking. I'm an Atheist but I don't see it to be a problem to believe in some kind of god and he set the Laws in place for Evolution to take it's course. That is more amazing to me than ANY Old Tome, and it has evidence to support it.
If they want to teach ID in schools ... I get to teach Evolution in church

That is a great idea. I would take it a step further. Teach ALL the religions in school. So the students can see how full of crap they are.

I just dont see how they could attempt to get that in as "Science"

Oh I mean't in a Theology type class. Not Science class.
