finally....the whole duo!

this is the current state of the tandem fire poi moves we began investigating and practicing in the spring of 2007. the duo debuted at the chiapas state fair in mexico in november of that same year - we think it's come a long way since then!

the idea behind this was to create a dance duet with fire poi, as opposed to choreographing a series of identical tricks. in our duet, almost all of the movements rely on both partners in order to work. even in the simplest move - 'the walk' - falls apart if one partner starts with the wrong hand because our poi would collide.

thanks to all our teachers - vikram, glittergirl, corrine and juanka and the many inspiring videos from nick, yuta and others.

we hope you enjoy!

  • Hey..... do you know how I can get a type of fuel for this that wont spash. I will be doing it on top of porformance mats and I don't want to splash. I am part of gymnist team its for a bit show coming up.

  • @ghostraptor1 oops sorry so late. use white gas only. anything else will make the mats permanently slippery and dangerous for gymnasts. after you dip them in fuel, spin poi very fast so that fuel flies out. do this outside and before you light them. they should not drip if you get rid of the excess. hope that helps

  • @goodclevers It seems to be a version of Sakura Sakura. Its a Japanese folk song. . . I think it's usually played at the Sakura festival over in Japan. I would also like to know what this version is. . .
