  • @treznorift - Well that really is a major problem, no? Gears, in the end, totally made sense. Xenosaga, in the end, was a convoluted mess that basically went nowhere.

@ewylder - Yeah, I know. My understanding is Takahashi is a real pain to have as a director- he takes too long, spends too much time on little details, etc. Kind of a bad project manager, is what you hear. But taking him and Saga out of their roles ripped the heart from the series. It's just too bad. *shrug*

  • @MurphysGhost So in short Xenosaga is bad? Or just not to good in story?

  • Xenogears, to me, is a game super-ripe for HD revival. It was too ambitious for its time, but now? I think the current technology could really do it justice.

  • @MurphysGhost Actually it does and exelent work event with teh sofware limitations. Plust, you see Xenosaga habe all the best of tecnology but is plot and battle and cool stuffs cant compare xenogears. So Xenosaga is more a prettyer beauty visual game.

  • @XenogearsXenosaga

Oddly enough, I am not moved by xenosaga's graphics, they might be high but utterly lack style. where as Xenogears is old and a massive game on a large games budget and time frame it had style.

  • @jetrpg22 Yes some friends say Xenosaga looks almost like a "movie". And well in Xenogears we do a lot of stuff to pull out a nearly endless quest in the first CD that is almost more longer than the CD1 and 2 of FFVII.

  • @XenogearsXenosaga - No, it's not BAD. More disappointing, I guess. There are much crappier games but I thought Xenosaga had the potential to be better, is all.

More than anything I'd really like to see a total remake of Xenogears, though.

  • @MurphysGhost that's because the original Xenogears writers did Xenosaga I, but were dismissed for some reason for Xenosaga II and III. Origianally Xenosaga was going to be a seven game series with the last few games being a remake of Xenogears.

  • Xenosaga is great, the main problem I think is that the story is really too convoluted, there's a lot of plot holes and overall it doesn't make sense because the explanations given in the final scenes are really fucked up

  • Xenosaga I is really good, but there's not much Gear action. II and III have more Gears, but IMO they are not nearly as good story-wise. Xenosaga really was a disaster in the end. But the first game was great.
