Kimberlie Acosta talks with Lori Watso and Rebecca Yoshino from Mdewakanton Wozupi (Garden). Wozupi is a demonstration of one of the many supportive and healthy ways the Shakopee Mdewakanton Dakota are caring for the environment, the earth, ourselves and, future generations. IndianCountryTV.com traveled over to the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community this past summer to visit their organic farm. IndianCountryTV.com is located on the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe Reservation at Reserve, Wisconsin.

@ 7:35 WRONG...you couldnt be furtrher from the truth with that "Organic" theme. The USDA OWNS the word organic. Otherwise EVERY PLANT would be organic. That is the way the USDA makes you pay to label your stuff as organic.,then they make youdraw a map to your farm. Its a HUGE scam to take money from youtube.com/watch?v=B8T3QBJvLy0

Way to go Shakopee ! I do not understand why more reserves dont implement community gardens to feed their own people, grow the sacred medicines, create jobs & even sell extra produce to the local communities. It just makes sense. There are even species of plants that will extract toxins from the soil & the water.
Shine on Shakopee !
