@jk3446 By the way, djing barely has to do anything with playing music. It's mostly similar to drums. The basics is playing with the rhythms - you can also imagine beatmatching like escorting a band where all tones want to fall apart and your role is to get them together.
Dj Divine is totally right, there's trillions of techniques, tricks and ways you have to discover for yourself. I can do nothing, but encourage you and offer my help in case you're interested.

my advice is, that if you have (good) musicians around you, learn playing any instruments! It's just important!! (Piano is possibly the most versatile of all) You will learn how music is created, some music theory, and you will get used to the basic structure of any music genre. Also, if you are a dj, you will be motivated to create your own music at some point, which for being able to play at least one instrument is highly beneficial.

So I'm 15, and I would definitely love to try and do this. Music is my passion. My family has had pretty good musicians, but I wonder if that applies to DJing. Anyway, I have no idea how to even mix or anything. Whats a good way to get started or get a feel for it ??
