One of the best melodies ever. A Mexican song written by Marcos Jimenez.
1) The Los Indios Tabajaras guitar duo, from the 1964 album Mellow Guitar Moods.
2) Marty Robbins vocal from the 1973 album Bound For Old Mexico

It was popularized in America in 1940 by the Artie Shaw orchestra.
I also recommend renditions by Trio Los Panchos and by Billy Vaughn.

  • Listen to Artie Shaw's version!

  • Oh, and the Ames Brothers is another very good version.

  • I have just discovered this beautiful song and have played various versions, and have not found a bad one. I would recommend the Marty Robbins version, however.

  • Wonderful.

    Thanks.
