"Soreike! Anpanman" TV preview 1989 ("Go Anpanman! Tears of the Sparkling Star")

A coworker told me this guy (the very first character in the video) is "Anpanman." I never saw the series, but now I wish I had. It's kinda freaky. I mean, that dude eats that other dude's brains...rice...whatever. And this is for children?

Awesome.

Recorded from Japanese television while I was on Okinawa in 1989. I welcome any comments or input—or, especially, translations.

Most of the main characters are food items, so it's not lethal to eat their heads (in fact, the main character's head is a bean jam-filled bun, which he feeds to hungry children willingly). The primary villain, Baikinman (Germ Man), was just eating that guy's head against his will - just to be an ass, knowing him. This clip in particular is a preview for one of the show's many short movies, それいけ！アンパンマン　キラキラ星の涙, or "Go Anpanman! Tears of the Sparkling Star."
