Here is Part 2 where we compare displays on the Nexus 10 by Google to the Microsoft Surface Tablet. Is the 2560x1600 Resolution on the Nexus 10 enough to edge out the clear type display on the Surface? Find out in this display comparison to see if PPI really matters.

I could finally use a Surface yesterday and found the display very good.

Anyway you are completely right that PPI isn't the end of all things and in fact 2560x1440 is not generally optimal nowadays on tablets or laptop due to the heavy taxing on graphics card plus the fact that when viewing from a usual distance you generally won't see much difference in sharpness.

That's is why I am not superexcited about rumors of next gen 5" full HD phones, improved battery life would be way more usefull.

After 30+ years can we please dump microsoft forever; that company has had the monopoly on OSs for decades and has been little more than an innovation blackhole for much of that time. Nexus & google = ftw

The Surface is touchscreen laptop, which is why it IS overall better. It isn't even in the same category as the Nexus 10. if it were just a tablet, then the Nexus would just run the Surface over.
