It's interesting how you believe the propaganda your country is filling your head with. There is ONE reason for your wars, it is called OIL. It backfired once, airplanes crashing in buildings and killing thousands and it will backfire again. Because you are the country that needs the most oil you have to take it, it's that simple. Your presidents are puppets of capitalism, you initiated a new economic crisis and if someone steps up against all this bullshit in you country he gets locked away.
@fluffymole0913 "Oh sure, they sound good when you put it like that." ... LOL As for what "really" happened in Afghanistan . . . The Taliban was removed from power. Terrorist training camps destroyed. Taliban and Al Qaeda on the run. Bin Laden killed. Democratic government established. Schools, hospitals, and infrastructure being built. Foreign aide pours in. Men and Women are no longer beaten, executed, and beheaded by brutal oppressive government.
You can't just walk away after removing a country's government and power structure. There was a power vacuum and a power struggle going on between the different factions. The last thing we wanted was to have a similar government, or a worse government take over after the fall of Sadam. There would have been all out civil war and hundreds of thousands more would have been killed had we just left. We had to stay to ensure the transition to a more moderate govt.
The whole reason for going into Iraq wasn't necessarily to kill Sadam. It was to remove him and his regime from power. This was a government that had WMDs and was willing to use it against anyone, including their own people. Sadam had invaded 3 countries and was a supporter of terrorism. It doesn't take a stretch of the imagination to think that he might provide one of these terrorist groups with WMDs to attack us by proxy.
@Vulcan750L Oh sure, they sound good when you put it like that. But you need to look at what really happened, not what the supposed motive was. You guys go in guns blazing believing you're doing the right thing but all you ever do is cause more trouble. Vietnam, Iraq, Afganistan. Why were you in Iraq for so long after Saddam's death if the whole reason for going there was to kill him? 600,000 civilians have died in Iraq since the US got involved...
Rescuing the Kuwaitis from an Iraqi invasion and subjugation was stupid?
Defending Saudi Arabia was stupid?
Protecting the Kurds from Sadam's slaughter was stupid?
Removing an oppressive brutal regime that came to power by killing off the previous Afghani government, and who were hosting and protecting a terrorist organization that declared war against the US and repeatedly attacked us was stupid?

What really happened????
Kuwait was liberated. Sadam's army was driven back and largely destroyed.
Saudi Arabia was saved from invasion.
A no fly zone was established in Northern and Southern Iraq, patrolled by US aircraft. The Kurds were saved from inhalation.
Sadam and his regime removed from power, democratic govt. established. Iraqi people got to vote for the 1st time.
