  • @peakster753 Actually, the people who wrote this know a LOT about grief and loss. You are talking about a show hosted by farming folk, country folk, who could write a BOOK on loss and dealing with it: dirt poor farmers wearing 3rd generation hand me downs, farms lost to banks, children lost to sickness or farm accidents....We had two choices, let it wear us down, or laugh in its face. We chose the latter. Please quit making GOOD things about us into a BAD thing about you.

  • A classic. I'm weeping...with laughter!

  • @1969goatman More like the Republican Party theme song

  • It still pisses me off today b/c they put that poor man through the ringer, esp considering the fact he was a pillar of the community, knew practically everybody. Kids, including myself, were like his grandkids/g-grandkids. It was gr8 when he'd sneak us candy when folks weren't look'g. He sold a bit of "Recipe" on dl to a few patrons but nobody said anything; that man witnessed multiple generations of families; saw 6 of mine-5 from birth 2 adult w/babies. He'd have fit in perfectly on Hee-Haw!

  • Thanks for bringing up the few wonderful memories I had as a child. In hindsight, I can now see this was definitely a great show where you didn't have to screen it for the kids b4-hand; Boob-tube moniker didn't apply to Hee Haw. In those days I knew a man who ran a country store w/anything for farming & southern cooking incl raw honey w/comb, etc. It was infuriating when a stupid rookie arrested him at 98yo for selling smokes to 17yo b/c he was unaware of law change to 18+yo's. He ret'd after.

  • I miss Hee Haw, thanks for the clip! This is proof positive that you can get a great laugh at comedy without hearing one cuss word. Those are days that I truly miss. Comedy with a touch of integrity and class, no matter how they lampooned any lifestyle.

  • @1969goatman Thanks for the laugh!

  • They should have Gingrich, Romney, Santorum and Perry sing this at the next GOP debate.

  • @dulaone It was supposed to be but in a good natured way.

  • FUNNY STUFF....I REMEMBER THIS!!!!!
