GCC TV - DXing the AM band with the S 350 DL

This is me DXing alot of stations on the MW
bands that have alot of broadcasts from the Eastern region. There include Radio Reloj, UPDATE: Coming soon a new video that will be more updated. Also a chance to hear the AM band with HD radio hash noise that is coming in most of the time.
and other radio stations from 519 kHz to 1150 kHz. I will be making more of these videos during the different seasons. This is during the summertime. This radio was received during the holidays as a gift. The radio was acting up working not right and now its working good now no problems yet.

I can't believe you were able to pick up AM 800 out of Windsor,ON and not clearly pick up 760 WJR Detroit,MI that's very strange because they both boom at 50,000 watts.

If I had a loop antenna that was specifically designed for the 500 ohm impedance I would probably receive the station in well. The radio receives what it can receive, plus most stations were coming, but the storms and camera noise was making it difficult a little and the computer monitor along with it. This video is out of date. Soon I am making a another bandscan video after I get a new camera.

What is your Location, When you tuned to 880 I'm sure that was WCBS New York/New Jersey, I'm just outside Toronto, Ontario, Canada and I can here 880 some nights.

wow very cool that i found thid since im thinking of getting that radio. im decideing between that and the superadio III. Do you have both? which sounds better?

In fact Yes I have both radios, but the Ge Superadio III is more sensitive than the S-350. This radio has real good FM DX potential and the AM band is good also as well. If you want something better than this get the CC radio plus from C Crane.

Interested in MW (AM) Dxing ? Check out the National Radio Club ! This Club has HUNDREDS of folks that enjoy this type of DX . You can really learn from some of the advanced members about pulling out those unheard stations ! Lots of fun .

530 is definitely CIAO 530 AM out of Brampton, ON. 650 is probably WSM Nashville. 660 is probably WFAN from NYC. 740 is DEFINITELY CFZM from Toronto. (It can sometimes be heard as far south as Jacksonville, Florida, or so the legend goes.) 800 is CKLW "THE BIG 8" Windsor, ON. 860 is likely CJBC Toronto. 890 is most likely WLS from Chicago. 940 might be the now defunct CINW from Montreal. 1000 is 50,000 watt ESPN 1000 AM Chicago. 1010 may be 1010 WINS NYC or CFRB Toronto. Many, many more!!
