In 2011, the Open Society Foundations' At Home in Europe Project worked with Leytonstone School to explore views and experiences of belonging and identity in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. A discussion with pupils, staff, and members of the wider school community, moderated by BBC special correspondent Razia Iqbal, took place at Leytonstone School. Learn more at www.soros.org.

  • The English, as an ethnic group, are being eradicated from their native lands. This is known as ethnic cleansing or genocide when it happens to most ethnic groups. It is know as "multiculturalism" and "diversity" when it happens to European ethnic groups.

  • The reality is that Leytonstone, and Waltham Forest have lost their identity. It has been drowned out with asian, black and polish segregated communitites, with their own identity.
