PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. You will void the warranty on your Powertec Gym.

I filmed Lee Priest doing some heavy squats on his Powertec Multi System just to demonstrate how durable these machines are.

A lot of our customers in Australia can't see the gym before buying so this is our way of saying this is a fair dinkum multi gym - not some cheap piece of crap home gym.

Also don't believe the dribblers that are importing Powertec copies over here - THEY ARE NOT THE SAME GYM! - If anyone could sell Powertec copies it would be me because I know so much about these gyms so I would know how to build one properly.

I don't sell copies because Powertec is a great value product - believe me I have seen some absolute rubbish copies and it is not worth the risk. Powertec is an honest company run by honest people. It has been a pleasure dealing with them and I am now in my fifth year.

Also if you are going to lift heavy on the Powertec Multi System do not use foam jig saw style mats. The ass end of Lee's gym has sunk through the mats. Hence the rocking!

  • one bolt holding all that weight at the back thought, that worries me. I have a powetec leverage and I train alone with it and I have to admit I have overloaded the bar a few times but its all on one fairly skinny bolt at the back which scares me.

  • @soundmusiclover Not sure which bolt you are referring to, but the steel axis at the pivot point will never break. There are 4 bolts that attach back pads to the lifting arm. They have a sleeve arrangement that will tear the weld before anything happens.

I have seen loads of these over the year and they don't just fall apart, even after years of hard training. Plus you shouldn't be driving backwards to stress that sleeve.

  • @SamsFitnessComAu Yes the pivot point is what i meant its just one bolt holding all that weight. even when its not being used it is holding the weight at its pivot point which seems like a big duty just for one long thin bolt. Ive just always thought it may be dangerous when putting big weights on to rely on one bolt.

  • @soundmusiclover Hey that isn't a bolt, its solid steel. It just has threads at either end. That is the strongest part of the whole gym!!

Plus remember too that the weight is mostly supported by the user when lifting, or the start/stop mechanism.

  • how would you compare the force usa power cage with lat pull down to the power tec?

  • @bozzza69 They don't compare.

  • @GetDownOrLayDown31 Calm down! He's demonstrating how strong a piece of equipment is by using it through its range of movement to prove that it can cope with over 700lb (far more than you'd ever actually use it for). People don't read do they?

  • mad quarter squats LOL, ATG OR GO HOME.

  • @DrPullmeov

Hey that is why I put the warning at the start saying for people not to try it.

We just wanted to demonstrate that the Powertec gym equipment was built tough. A lot of our customers in Australia can't see the weight training equipment before they buy it. So I just want to show everyone that it is the real deal

  • What i am concerned about if he decided to do this on his own, or anyone else for that, he had someone to place the safety pin back in, how could he do that on his own?
