Hidden Memory - Stop Motion Movie

- Hidden Memory -
A short animated movie by Stefan, Florian and Matthias.

Isolated in his own world, a man is prisoner by his own mind.

This movie was created with modeling clay in stop motion technique and filmed with Nikon D300 and D60 DSLR. It took us three complete days to capture the movie and uncountable days and nights to cut and colorcorrect frame by frame the whole movie.

We developped this movie during our study course "Medien und Informationswesen" at the University of Applied Sciences Offenburg (Hochschule Offenburg).

Amazing, how did you do the effect with the brush were things appear?

Thanks for your comment. For the effect we animated the guy painting in the air with no object first. After finishing painting we placed the object and took a photo. At postwork in After effects we put both the photo of the final object and the drawing animation together, but the object hidden by a mask so its totally invisible at first. While drawing animation we reduced the mask in shapes of brush strokes and let the object slighly appear that way. That's all. ;)

Es gibt nur zwei Dinge, die mich an dem Video beeindruckt haben..

1. Die Qualität. Seit wann gibt es bei YouTube so gute Quali ?! ^^

2. Der Aufwand der dahinter steckte.

Aus der Story bin ich nicht ganz schlau geworden.. Aber die Musik gefällt mir auch ganz gut :)

Zu 1: Also diese Qualität gibt's wenn man das Video in HD hochlädt. (Mindestens 1280 x 768 Pixel).

Zu 2: Ooooh ja, es war ein sehr großer Aufwand. Schön, dass du das zu würdigen weißt.

Zur Story sag ich mal nichts, darunter kann sich jeder etwas anderes vorstellen. Einfach nochmal in Ruhe angucken und den Gedanken freien Lauf lassen.

Und mit der Musik hast du auch Recht, die hat der Lukas wirklich sehr gut hinbekommen. Sind wir auch sehr froh drüber. :)

i like the depressing element, for me, because i like very dark animations i would have delved even further into this and once the man had went back to normality, have a pan that follows him outside the room, to discover he has merely created a room within the endless spectrum he originally found himself in. nice work though
