  • Which Sparkler is the Lucky Pierre?

  • Great version - but I think Trini Lopez's is the best...

  • Jinkies! I've always loved this tune...and Lawerence Welk's band & quartet of male singers give us a FUN & LIVELY version here. MANY thanks for posting this treasure of a tune & cool clip! You've MADE my day & week! CHEERS! :-)

  • @dancebandleader I could not agree with you more! I much prefer the black and white shows. Sadly, PBS in NC mostly plays the color version of L.W.

  • The older shows had more instrumentals and a looser format, that when the

show went to color. Also the black and white shows were almost all live,

whereas the color shows were all taped. That and the profusion of girl

vocalists seemed to bog down the show.

  • That's true...there was more feeling of mystery before color, on that show. Kinda like the sense on gets from B&W still photography. Color blew the show wide open. Haven't we enough color in everyday life?

  • Rocky Rockwell was ADORABLE!!!

    Welk was much more enjoyable

    before Color!

  • Fantastic
