English transcript:
Hello, we are at an organic tea garden that produces Ti Kuan Yin (Ti Kwan Yin) oolong tea in Anxi, Fujian.
You can tell this is an organic plantation because there are plants, insects, and butterflies everywhere. This is a sign that no pesticide was used, so that nature can retake its course. There are lots of weeds out here for the moment because it rained a lot in the last few days. As it is near the end of the season, the planter is leaving them as is before pulling all the weeds out again. The tea plant here is between 2 to 3 years old, which is a very good age for Ti Kuan Yin. The best age for Ti Kuan Yin is between 2 to 5 years old. In general, the Chinese oolong consists of only leaves. After plucking, the tea buds are removed and sold to other tea makers to produce other types of tea. We can also see that in Ti Kuan Yin tea garden, the tea plants are much shorter than those in other places, such as in Darjeeling or Assam in India.
And we can see the soil is of good quality, moist, full of little lively creatures, which proves that no pesticide is in the soil. And we find many earthworms - a vital component in a healthy bio-system, everywhere.
Here we are at another Oolong plantation. This one produces a type of oolong called Mao Xie. The tea plants are a lot older than the ones used for Ti Kuan Yin. These are between 10-20 years old. The production volume for this oolong is a lot higher but is of lesser quality than Ti Kuan Yin. We don't carry this oolong at Tekoe. This tea is mostly for the Chinese domestic market.
