The PCC Trolley replaced the earlier trolleys, those of the pre-WWII vintage. This style of trolley is still run in many cities around the U.S. and around the world., but they to have been replaced themselves by buses in some of the large cities.

This model trolley is made by Aristo-Craft of Irvington, NJ. I bought it new at the East Coast Large Scale Train Show in March of 2011. This is a replica of what the PCC trolleys look like in Pittsburgh, PA.
