in all honesty I think Marvel should give Peter David the Hulk series he knew the character better than anyone Marvel should just kick Loeb back to DC at least he knows the characters thier better than he does Marvel.

That's pretty much my opinion of it. It was good at the start, but there are only so many "Who is the Red Hulk" issues I can take.

Other than that, like you say, it's mindless fun, but this latest story (She-Hulk and the Liberators/Wendi-Hulk) were pretty terrible. I hope it picks up soon.

It could easily be considered mindless fun to be fair.

My brain cannot turn off that much unfortunately!

And I do really mean that!

But when you've got a story called "Who is the Red Hulk" that doesn't answer the question by the end, yet merely gives you a cheeky moment showing that its not Doc Sampson theres little else to call the story but crap.

Loeb's latest Marvel work has been atrocious boring and brainless IMO.

I'm liking the Rulk story, I"m just wishing they'd get on with it. He's been around with a promise to reveal everything for about a year, now, but they just keep doing filler issues like this She-Hulk/ thing, then then they go and split the story in two (Wendigo) so the main plot takes even longer to tell!

Again, enjoying it, but get on with it. Rulk should have been done by issue 6.

So, here's the story on the Ghost Riders:

Blaze and Ketch are half-brothers. They are both the sons of Naomi Kale, but from different fathers. Naomi was trying to rid herself of some kind of curse and left John with his dad and Dan and Barbara with Francis Ketch. Also, their cousin is Jennifer Kale, whom you may remember from that "Witches" title they had a little while back.

Well he hasn't fully painted a story for a log time.

Yes he contributed to JSA, but his Superman ish was only pencilled by him, and Justice he just did the finishing painting and worked over finished pencils.

But hes also involved with Project Superpowers as well as JSA/Invaders so really hes been extremely busy of late.

And painting takes him quite a while from what I understand.

yeah, i still don't get why he's trying to fix the ultimate u with ultimatum when he's one of the guys that broke the ultimate universe! cap white looks cool though...i think he's very much a dc/out-of-continuity writer

Its just been scheduling issue more than anything!

We're filming these ones in "the Vault of Evil!"

Loebs work has indeed been in a crazy slump.

To be honest I think the types of books that he is putting out in the camp of "all art and no substance" really hurt the industry as a whole by driving away fans and discouraging new ones.

Avengers/Invaders was really good. Jason Aaron has turned Ghost Rider from one of the shitiest book to one of the best. Cap hit out of the park since issue 1. Jeph Loeb's Marvel work is so fucking dumb. First Rulk and then killing every single person in ULtimatium. Please swap him and Sean Mckeever.

great review as always Hartley!! The one thing I don't understand about Alex Ross is that he would gladly paint entire storie for DC and yet he won't paint for Marvel in this story I mean I know he painted that story "Marvel" but why is it he won't paint in the Avengers and Invaders.
