Ya, because the speedometer only says 85mph, that's as fast as the car will go. Once the needle hits 85, it tells the car to shut off and self-destruct, because it couldn't possibly go faster than the gauge shows.

That was a joke. The speedometer only says 85mph because that was law at the time, but even the non-turbo version of these can touch 200km/h.

It comes on because the car is boosting over the factory limit. On mine it comes on at 10psi.
