A simple SCR circuit built to trigger a camera flash so that I can take stop action photos of things.

It is Piezo detector based, and simply triggers an SCR, so it will detect sound and vibration.

  • Do you have a schematic of this circuit? Also, would it work to trigger a simple disposable camera flash? I've tried similar circuits in the past and the scr can never trigger the flash (it doesn't seem to switch quickly enough to make the trigger transformer work properly)

  • Yeah, how did you did that? I want also bild it... I have Canon eos 30d

  • I always wanted to build a trigger like that! Do you "trick" the flash's light censor with foil to get shortest possible flash? If not, try it - you'll get 1 millionth of a sec flash (or so I read). Please tell how you built it - I want to "catch" a bullet!!
