Jim was such a good looking man, a brilliant actor and a wonderful guy. I've been reading about him from his friends. He really was an angel and had a heart of gold just like Ernest did. No wonder he played the part so well. Only when he strayed from Ernest like characters, did the movie not do well even though he did a great job. Thanks for posting. I'm always on the look out for anything Jim Varney.

People shape our lives in many way and for me he shaped mind through the years, watching his many acts and just what the love I got a strength I got just watch a simple person not to bright but caring enough to fight for what he believes in and when he fell he was strong enough to pick himself back up to carry on with what he see is right. For me it was all his funny characters that brought out the best.

@1mrtime Good 2 meet another Varney fan as well. I've been a fan 4 almost 26 years. Though, after his death, I couldn't watch his movies 4 a while. It was 2 hard. I'm putting 2gether a kind of memory box of his stuff. I'm almost done. I recently found "It's the Ernest P. Worrell Book of Knawledge" written by Varney as Ernest. I laughed through the entire 96 pages. Not 1 foul word or smutty comment. I've never laughed so hard while reading a book in my life. True genius. God Bless U.

@1mrtime So rare, in fact, I can't find a man even half as cool as Varney. You should check out Vern's suicide note on blog spot. It's not a cruel note. It's actually kind of touching. It's a cool kind of tribute to Ernest.

@1mrtime Yeah, Blake did a great job. 'Snowboard Academy' is like a B movie. Cheesy script. But bless Jim, he gave 100%. That's the only reason I bought it. But, when he strays too far from the Ernest like characters, it doesn't seem to work in his favor. He had something special with Ernest and it was his true calling. You know, the types of films with a weak moral backbone, foul language, no message? They don't pan out well for him even though he was a superb actor.
