Yeah I agree with that view(the consistency that Jesus would have been in the flesh)... I'm still studying this over again lately, I'm starting to realize the Bible never teaches spiritual death(as in our spirit dies). The two words aren't even there together... I think in the garden physical death was brought, not spiritual(longer explanation needed). And our(God's) image has been "corrupted," the issue comes in the definition of this word whether it be sin or not.

Yeah, we are not accountable for the first sin committed by Adam and Eve (godandscienceorg/apologetics/original-sin.html). They did introduce sinfulness, though, and as a result, everyone participated in it (Romans 3:23). Jesus was sinless, and if being in flesh (humanhood) is what inherits original sin, then Jesus would have been a sinner, which is not true. Unfortunately, the difference between sinfulness and sin is subtle for many to grasp.

Christianity was actually a Jewish sect (pejorative-cult) when it started out, because its tenets heavily differed from the mainstream traditional Judaism. Some beliefs that distinguish Mormonism and Jehovah Witnesses from Christianity >godandscienceorg/cults/mormcont.html, godandscienceorg/cults/jwdiff.html. Christianity eventually became its own faith instead of clinging to the label "Judaism."

Better question to ask is: "What distinguishes Christianity from a cult?"
