I'm writing a book, and the characters live in Bristol. What is schooling like there? How does schooling work...particularly in the 1930s-1940s? Thanks!

Nice video.Bristol born and bred but have lived in New Zealand for many years last time home 1969.A seafarer all my life I knew Bristol as a working port and sailed on the wine run to Spain and France several times in the 1960's also Bristol - Dublin run, berthing right up in the city centre a few minutes walk away from the "Hatchet".The Harbour is of course so different now but looks to have been developed very nicely.

My essence friend Phil lives in Bristol, as does my alter-ego Banksey. Bakersfield, California, and Bristol, England, the two greatest cities which have ever been, and continue to grow beyond all expectations.

I was here just today going for a walk along the harbour down to the SS Great Britain. It is a lovely area of the city and nice to see this great video clip, and the others you have uploaded.
There are a lot of historic private chools in Bristol that you could check out - try the websites of QEH, Red Maids and Cathedral school and see if you can find out about their history
